Regulation

In addition to the regulation faced by any business, oyster farmers face regulation dealing with:
  • marine farming leases,
  • marine farming licences,
  • maritime safety,
  • food safety and export access,
  • animal welfare and biosecurity, and
  • the environment.
Oysters Tasmania advises growers about, and seeks to improve, these regulations.
Growers are encouraged to contact Oysters Tasmania with any queries, comments, or requests regarding the regulations they face.
