marine farming licenCes

Tasmania’s Living Marine Resources Management Act 1995 empowers the Minister to:
  • issue marine farming licences,
  • impose fees on licence holders, and
  • impose licence conditions.
Marine farming licences are required to carry out marine farming.
Fees imposed under this Act include the species fee, the industry levy paid to Oysters Tasmania, and the ShellMAP levy.
Licence conditions include a requirement to hold a marine farming lease and to comply with the relevant marine farming development plan.
Individual licence documents are publicly available on ListMAP.
